Until We Meet Again!

"In the garden of memories, we meet every day. Missing you every day, Carola." This quote is beautiful and expresses my daily dealing with grief. Grief is something that some days comes like a flood knocking us down. The other day, while I was driving, the song The Greatest Love by Whitney Huston started on the radio. Wow, that song will never be the same for me. Immediately, tears flooded my eyes as I remembered you, but you know what? My heart is full of gratitude for having the privilege to be your sister and for witnessing your love for others. Your generous heart and selfless love will always be a source of great admiration for me. Thank you, Carol Judith Rivera Martinez, for teaching me what it means to love unconditionally. If there is something I will always be grateful for, it is how you always supported and respected me, even when sometimes you did not think like me. I want everyone to know the beauty of your soul through the memories I cherish from you.

There are two memories I will treasure from one of the last times we were together when you asked me to light a candle with you at Church, and we lighted it up together, and our conversation at the house where we were staying. Your heart was so big that you were more focused on how I was, and throughout the entire conversation, you were making sure I would be okay, just as if you already knew that would be our last conversation. I treasure every moment we shared and I embrace you every day in my memories of you. I miss you every day! And we meet every day in the memories shared. All those memories give me the strength to honor your life by loving others as you loved them. I'll love you forever and, will always honor you until we meet again my sister!
