We have overcome many obstacles these past years with the COVID-19 pandemic. First, the hurdle of the unexpected shutdown took us by surprise and shook us to the core, filling us with uncertainty and fear. We did not know how to embrace it or how to overcome it either. It was a time to reflect and make amends, to prioritize and make ourselves accountable. It was a time to grow up and make the changes that were already past due.
I'm proud of all of us; in the middle of this process, instead of victimizing ourselves, we rose to the occasion, and we persevered. Even though we are not out of it yet, we've come far. We can see the changes in everything. We see them in the way we do things, the way we interact with others, and we see it in how our priorities have changed. We lost many things too, things like employment, security, stability, and the worst of all, the loss of life. Unfortunately, many people lose family members and friends, making it the most challenging experience ever. Because of all these significant changes, many people do not know what to do now. Some people feel uncertain, hopeless, and confused about what to do next. They are asking themselves, What should I do now?
My answer is, Revamp your shoes. Accept the challenge and start doing new things, and start discovering new horizons. When you revamp something, you give it a new life; you can even change its original purpose and prepare it for a better one. Refurbishing your shoes helps you walk with more confidence and feel more in control. It is the same principle for our life. When we reinvent ourselves in the middle of any crisis, we acquire a new sense of inner power; we develop a new passion that makes us thrive. When we revamp our shoes, we are enhancing their potential and reinforcing their beauty. The same goes for our lives. When we reinvent ourselves, we are creating new opportunities, and we are enriching them. We are giving a new meaning to what life is to us, and we are re-taking the path with a faithful mind that better things are coming.
Renewing our life is a gesture of gratefulness, the gratefulness of being alive and being overcomers. We need to be thankful for having the opportunity to start again, a new chance. Being better than before the crisis is a great way to honor those we lost.
So, let's revamp our Shoes in memory of those
that could not wear them again!
